Have you been thanking your whales for pooping lately? No -- I didn't think I'd ever either. Now marine biologists tell us that their "flocculent fecal plumes" (read: poonami, a tsunami of poo). These plumes are rich in nutrients necessary for the marine ecosystem. Not only that, just by swimming up and down between the surface and floor of the ocean, whales are responsible for removing tens of millions of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere every year. How?
